Surgery

It can be a very nerve-racking time when a family member must have a surgical procedure done. At College Park Road Veterinary Clinic, we take every procedure seriously – providing the most advanced pain control, monitoring and surgical techniques possible. We have licensed veterinary technicians that have further certifications in anesthesia and pain management assisting our doctors while your pet is in our care.

Our surgical services include regular communication with you while your pet is with us for surgery. Prior to your pet’s procedure, a staff member will discuss the operation, answer any questions you might have, and go over a detailed estimate so you have a full understanding of everything.

Our doctors have done extensive training to become proficient in many different areas of surgery so that we can keep all your veterinary care in the same clinic. This means we can offer more surgical procedures than the average veterinary practice, including:

  • Spay and neuter
  • Mass/growth removal/biopsies
  • Orthopedic (musculoskeletal procedures): TTA, lateral suture repair of torn ACL, FHO (femoral head osteotomy), Luxating patella repair, some fracture repairs, limb, toe, or tail amputations
  • Emergency surgeries: Foreign body/intestinal obstruction surgery, splenectomy, cystotomy, wound/laceration repairs, internal mass removal/biopsy, gall bladder surgery

We’ll make sure to stay in communication with you throughout the day, and once complete, our doctor will call to discuss the details of your pet’s surgery. During the discharge appointment, we will provide you with a detailed aftercare plan, and our staff will discuss this and answer any questions you may have, so you leave feeling secure in how to care for your pet while he or she recovers.

You can also expect us to check in with you in the days following surgery. We do complimentary recheck exams in the weeks following any procedure to make sure everything is healing correctly and that all concerns have been addressed. or any concerns can be addressed.
