Radiology (X-Ray & Ultrasound)
Unfortunately, our pets can’t tell us when they don’t feel good, where they hurt, or why they are suffering—and by the time we see the symptoms, problems can be far advanced.
Luckily, the doctors and staff at College Park Road Veterinary Clinic are well-trained diagnostic detectives! Every day we investigate a variety of cases using years of experience and the latest diagnostic tools to uncover health problems and get our patients feeling better quickly.
These tools include:
- In-House Laboratory
- Digital Radiography: Accurate and detailed X-rays of your pet taken with the click of a button. They can detect abnormalities including skeletal fractures, soft tissue damage, foreign bodies, and dental disease.
- Ultrasound: Ultrasound is a powerful diagnostic tool that creates a real-time image of an animal’s body. When used in conjunction with other diagnostic tools like X-rays, ultrasounds can help identify disease, blockages, skeletal fractures, soft tissue damage and other internal injuries. We have a certified ultrasonographer on staff who can instantly give us a more in-depth view of what is going on internally.
X-rays and ultrasounds often require the patient to remain still, so sedation may be necessary. If so, the duration of sedation is usually short and patient recovery is swift.
