Mara Acevedo-Irizarry - Hospital Manager

Mara is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and the hospital manager at our clinic.

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she received her bachelor's in veterinary technology. She moved to Charleston in 2008 and joined our team five years later.

Mara has a passion for small animal surgery, dentistry, and ultrasound and recently completed a rigorous, year-long training course to become certified in the performance of ultrasounds.

Mara's human family consists of her son, Giovanni, and her daughters, Cora and Naomi. Her furry family includes a mixed breed named Boris, a Terrier mix named Luna, a German Shepherd named Diego, and four cats - Helen Keller, Goya Beatriz, Lya Mercedes, and Ellie the Hunter.

In her free time, Mara loves spending time outdoors with all of the kids and her husband, Caleb.
